Once again, it is that time of the year when the plants look at us with a smile, for example these beautiful lettuce that I planted a few weeks ago.
The constant watering and caring for them finally paid off, I say finally, but not yet, because I just transplanted them into a bigger pot and hopefully, they will be fully grown in a month’s time. I am hoping to grow different herbs and spices once this project is fruitful.
Speaking of lettuce, healthier living is on my agenda list this year. I have been eating fairly healthy but I feel I should be doing more. I bet the scare of horse meat in burgers and mince beef has shifted away many people’s perspective about meat. A lot more people are looking into healthier options as the thought of eating horse meat is just abhorrent, but not to the French I don’t think, because I understand they eat horse meat anyway.

To be on the safe side, why not be a vegetarian? I admire vegetarians, I wish my taste buds weren’t so fussy. I have thought about becoming a vegetarian numerous times, but it has proved to be a hard nut to crack for me so I decided to do it my way. what I do now is divide my plate into two halves and put in half serving of vegetables and the other half divide servings of carbs and proteins equally. Am not a vegetarian but hey, at least am eating my vegetables.
 Healthy living is the new sexy, a blended mixture of water, coconut milk, different frozen fruits, frozen kale, avocado, courgette, almond butter, chia seeds, flax seeds, bee pollen, baobab powder, acai berries, maca powder, lacuma powder, pomegranate, wheatgrass (addopted from style magazine) is the new breakfast menu.  These exotic seeds and fruits are very good for your health and boosts your immune system a great deal, for example flax seeds are said to be the new wonder food. Preliminary studies show that it may help fight heart disease, diabetes and breast cancer. Have flaxseed powder with yoghurt and strawberry jam for breakfast and you will not only be gaining all the health benefits, but also a flavorsome meal.
 Health is the most important thing in life and you don’t normally realize that until it is taken away from you. Just like money, when you save it, you will know how important it was to save it when you really need it in the future.
